This time, it is Marie Gorman’s turn. Marie is a Financial Services Administrator here.
From travel to financial services
Marie’s background was in travel but she is now exploring the financial services industry. She likes to push herself out of her comfort zone and acquire new knowledge. This is evident in the fact that she has learnt a lot in her one and a half years, working alongside the great team at RetireInvest.
Journey so far
Marie is proud of the fact that she started in the financial services industry with no prior experience but she has thrown herself into the deep end and has acquired a good understanding of the role and financial services as a whole in a very short space of time.
Standout moment
When a valued client had two policies with a provider and urgently needed their funds transferred to their bank account. Despite submitting all the required documentation, the process had stalled. However, the team persevered in chasing the provider and the issue was eventually resolved. Just the outcome she had hoped for and it made all the chasing worthwhile.
Embracing a challenge
Marie loves a challenge! What makes it easier though is that there is great support from the team around her and she feels she can bounce ideas off them and come up with a good solution. As Marie states, “you are never on your own here.”
A snapshot of RetireInvest
According to her, the RetireInvest team make complex financial decisions feel straightforward and they are tailored to each client. From pensions and investments to tax and inheritance planning, they prioritise understanding the goals and lifestyle of each individual before a plan is put in place.
A friendly voice
To be able to listen to customers and their requirements, and to just be a friendly voice at the end of the phone, are the skills she cites as being the most important in this job.
Alternative career plan
A storm chaser is the job Marie dreamt about as a child… maybe not so far from chasing down the issues that face her clients!
Name your superpower
The ability to slow time down, just to be able to enjoy and capture every moment with family and friends.
And she would be Little Miss?
Tidy – nothing should be out of its place!
